Liam with his left leg still taped from yesterday slaps home a winner down the line to take the game to 15. Again looks well up for this today, encouraging signs.

By the way Id be checking Safiullins passport he looks way older than 24

Liam earns 3 break points at 0-40 but Saf hangs on. A lot of errors coming off Romans racquet, if Liam digs in I think he will get this.

Liam hits a fierce winner but that apart his opponent hangs on to take it from 15. Oh no mate Liam shouts to himself by netting a return.

First set Safiullin, who hits the outside of the line twice and then Liam double faults on set point. Very unlucky on all 3 points there.

Liam likes to win in 3 anyway so same again.

Liam is taken to deuce but takes it with a winner down the line. More cheers and come ons. Think his plan should be attack rather than waiting for errors because Safiullin is continuing to hit right to the baseline on his backhand especially.

Contrary to what Ive said above Liam manages to get a break point from 3 unforced errors and a DF, shanks the return into the crowd however and after a 20 odd shot rally cant return and Safiullin hangs on.
