Hennemann now has to play her doubles final.

Either maybe Freya will have tired her out a little to help Em.

Or Em+ will tire her out a bit to help Eliz tomorrow?

With such good points on offer for our girls this week it's a real shame that Sonay didn't play. I think the Loughborough field will be much tougher.

Good point. Why isn't she here? Has she picked up a niggle?

*3-4 in the doubles. The girls did break, but after saving two break points their opponents got a lucky net cord on the deuce point return.

Very tight set goes 4-6. If their heads drop it will be a short second. Need to try and stay positive.

Decent quality final, very competitive and not much to swing it one way or the other. Think every game except one went at least to 30 but they needed a few more first serves in the second set to try and consolidate the early break. Looks like Em is scheduled to go to Tunisia now to play with Lily.

Excited to see how Eliz gets on tomorrow, hopefully she can relax and enjoy it a little!

Having watched bits of both semi finals, I think it will be a big ask for Eliz to win.
The Swedish girl is much more powerful has has excellent defence. She also uses the drop shot well.

Our 'young Turk' played a super two sets (no idea about the first, didn't see it, who cares .....)

Great job, Eliz !

What a super win...and couldn't happen to a nicer girl! Eliz has doubled her points scores in just the one event. In the 800's now and in UK Top 25!

700s indeed   Should be 18 points ( so far ) to take her from 21 to 39 ranking points.

And Eliz is now provisionally 600s and GB top 20.  Probably 500s and GB #17 if she wins the final

I think Eliz was on 17 at the beginning of the week so now 47 and low 700's-level with Gallacher.

Eliz had two successive 4 point additions on 27/12/21 and 03/01/22 from Tunisia W15s in weeks 50 and 51 ( the second week as a LL semi finalist ), taking her from 13 points to 17 and then to 21 and into the top 1000 for the first time on 03/01.

In the latest 10/01 WTA rankings she is still ranked 992 on 21 points and I can't see any January points that she is due to drop off.

So I think that should be her provisionally onto 21 + 30 = 51 points in the post Aus Open 31/01 rankings.

Edit: She is WR 988 on 21 points in the newly issued 17/01 rankings.

Eliz has lost the first set 1-6

She looked pretty nervous at the start (not surprising really)

And H started quite well - FAR better than yesterday.

Eliz played better in the second half, despite losing the games - hopefully she'll get off to a better start in the second

F: MALONEY, Eliz (GBR) 992 lost to HENNEMANN, Caijsa Wilda (SWE) (6) 493 1-6 5-7

Eliz served for the 2nd set at 5-3 but then Caijsa reeled off four games in a row to win the match.
