She's being made to look like an inexperienced newbie playing the Aussie swing for the time. Which of course she is.
A little similar to other matches she's had post New York where she doesn't manage to close out game points early on and it sort of runs away as she gets increasingly lost. But it's mostly Rybakina being completely dialed in, she played great last week and continuing it.

It was a bad draw, and a result like this was going to happen some day soon anyway. Let's hope she gets a good draw next week and can get through the first two rounds and gain some momentum.
The beginning of Emma's tough 2022. Although, I think this is the first monster hitter that Emma has faced in her career? (The likes of Osaka, Sabalenka, peak Keys. Quite an eye-opener) Glad her ranking will get her into a full year on tour, facing the best players quickly. Would like to see her build some confidence in some 250's, as well as play the Premier's. I think a match win or 2 at the Aus Open will be a huge success.

Unfortunately it looks as if she is now over-ranked as a result of the amazing run last year from Wimbledon to the US Open followed by little play since. She needs to get a run of wins together but that may not happen until her ranking falls and she can drop to lower level events and start to rebuild from there.
