Harriet played ok but was unable to land her shots on the few mini opportunities she had at 30-30 on the Keys serve. Having held serve throughout the 2nd set, the tiebreak was a series of unforced errors from Harriet; two groundstrokes wide, 2 drop shot errors and a couple of double faults.
Despite conceding the early break in the opening set, Madison was much the better player overall. Some brutal return winners off first serves. Lots of super shots from Keys as she won 5 games in a row from 0-2.
Felt like Harriet offered Madison too many opportunities to unleash her huge groundstrokes. Admittedly, not easy to prevent Keys from dominating.
The occasional good shot from Harriet, a super backhand pass and another backhand crosscourt, as well as a forehand return winner off a first serve.
