RE: Greece F1

I'm predicting a first major title win for Neil Bamford! I think he'll have too much for Josh in an all British final, like in the doubles!

Neil actually won the 10k at Frinton last year, if either win I'd been happy mind!

Lovely as an all-Brit final would be, shouldn't we wait until that's the case before predicting the outcome?

No. That's what British sport and tennis in particular suffers from. No one has any faith in the boys. Its either expect too much of Tim and Andy or expect too little of everyone else.

Neils first overseas title wud b great!

Congrats to Bamford and May on winning the doubles title, that's a great result. They had some great results in doubles in the GB 1 satellite earlier this year, beating Fleming and Murray in week 2. It's a shame that their singles schedules haven't allowed them to play much doubles since then. Bamford is a fine doubles player, he was the major factor in Herts cruising to the title in County Week last July.

I agree steven, apparently Jamie was a bit erratic and struggling with his timing on Wednesday in rd2, unfortunately he wasn't able to grind out a win and didn't take his chances in set 3. He'll be annoyed with himself.

Mind you with Bamford on that sort of form, I'm not sure that Jamie would have progressed much further. Neil blew Kulik off the court in the quarters with some impressive power hitting.

Looking ahead to the semis:

Bamford v Inbar: Inbar's recent form has been good, he qualified and then won a round in a challenger in India and has reached 2 futures quarters in Israel. He beat the 3rd seed [ranked 399] in straight sets here in rd2.

Goodall v Hadash: Hadash is ranked 544 and defeated the 2nd seed Luke Bourgeois in the quarters. He's reached a final, a semi and a qf in futures events in Israel this year.

does anyone have any news yet? After my bold predictions I'm dying to know the results! How do you get on to the results anyway - do you have contact with the players or is there a results service I'm unaware of?

Go Neil!

I don't know any results yet, I'll see if I can find out within the next hour as they won't be available on the web until this evening.

Re how we obtain results: Several of us [including me] have contact with the players, sometimes members visit challengers or futures and we do a live score service throughout the day plus match reports, for British events we do an updated results service throughout the day getting info from the tournament office. There are also links we use which you may be unaware of, I'll pm you them if you're interested.

That's a real shame, I had hoped at least one of them would reach the final

that is a real pity. And my confident predictions have indded left me with egg on my face. Never mind. I felt I had to believe anyway.

Good luck to all Brits next week!
