I think Millie might have secured herself a WTA rankings with this week's wins but I'm not quite sure why.
http://wtafiles.wtatennis.com/pdf/rankings/Singles_Alphabetic.pdf shows her with 2 counters before this week and they seem to come from qualifying for two W15s in Sharm el Sheikh in February this year, when she had to win three matches in qualifying but went out in R1. I was aware that the WTA had increased ranking points for some ITFs as a pandemic measure but I can't find any reference in the rulebook (including mid-year update) or on their site that says players get points for qualifying at W15 events, however big the qualifying draws might be.
Does anybody know if this was a very temporary measure? Or even if it is still going on, just not in the rulebook? Or if I've missed a reference to it in the rulebook?
I guess we'll know for sure one way or the other when the rankings come out on Monday week (although given the very late corrections the WTA has made to some rankings this year, 'for sure' might be a bit optimistic!)
Another excellent week in ITFs, anyway, crowned by Beth's brilliant demolition of the field at Jablonec nad Nisou W25

According to the ITF table of increased points (valid Apri; 5th to 27th Decembe 2021) W15 qualifiers get one point, and it wasn't one of the temporary increased points.
Edit:- That's an ITF table, not a WTA table BTW

W15 qualifiers certainly currently get a point for qualifying. But I wasn't aware of this happening before the temporary increases introduced in April.
However, yes, looking at Millie's WTA match history that shows 1 point for each of these early year qualifications. So it does look as if she will be ranked on 13/12.
According to the ITF rules from August 2020, qualifiers did not get a point, but in the January 2021 regulations they do, so that is when the change was introduced.

Thanks. Stupid me, I ought to have checked the ITF rules instead of relying on anything on the WTA s(h)ite.
