I think Sarah has won by retirement at 3-0. Opponent had treatment on her lower back at 2-0 played 1 more game but couldn't really move and that was it

Beth has always had the ability in singles, but she has struggled in the past to perform to a high level back to back.
It is great to see that consistent high level coming through.
It will be a mixture of experience and fitness.

I was having a lazy lie in this morning and put Beth's match on my iPad. Monnet turned up 10 minutes late, played two games (3 double faults on her serve) and then called for the trainer. It was obvious she was no better after treatment so I think she had to retire. Beth looked frozen with all the hanging around waiting but still exchanged a warm hug with her opponent at the end. I think she deserved the win. This will be her biggest counter and suddenly the gap between her and the top 10 doesn't look quite so daunting.

It won't do her any harm when she wants to play in the bigger tournaments as her singles ranking will be close to main draw and she has two revenue sources as we know doubles doesn't pay that well.

Beth had the skipping rope out during the MTO.

Sarah Beth won 3-0, her opponent retired, as stated above, by numerous people more awake than me!

Beth will play the unseeded Anastasia Kulikova WR298 from Finland in the final. She put out the top seed 1 & 3

Big jump in rankings once these points go on - possibly 60 places. Closing fast on Naiktha in tenth spot (WR295 on 227 points according to OE)

Yes Kulikova defeated Kusmova quite comprehensively. I think Viktoria was quite fancied as one to watch a couple of years ago but doesn't seem to be fulfilling her potential just now.

I think Kulikova is a decent player, but hopefully Beth can put on a strong showing. What a week.

Can Sarah Beth repeat Emily's feat and win a title as a qualifier?
