Week 48 - Challenger 50 (€31,440) - Antalya, Turkey (red clay)

MTO out now for Svrcina. he was 0-40 down on his own server but got it back to deuce before calling for a physio. Arm or finger I think.

Shame this is only a $50K. Only 7 points for reaching QF

After losing the 1st sets of his first two matches 2-6, Ryan wins the 1set 6-2 here.

5-3 up in the 2nd he has lost 4 games in a row to go to 6-2, 5-7 cry

Ryan went behind twice. Was 2-4 down. Won three games.

Other guy took a rather tactical MTO.

Ryan still had two MPs on his serve.

Played too tentatively on one of them (good serve on the other)

Now 5-5

It's a really enjoyable match. Both of them fighting hard and games going to deuce. Ryan now 6-5 up on serve.

Ryan wins 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(2)

At 6-2, 5-3 I was working out what ranking Ryan might rise to.

At 6-2, 5-7, 2-4 I was wondering how another defeat from the jaws of victory might affect Ryan

Match points came and went at 6-2, 5-7, 5-4*

Into the tie-break and he did it. I think with Ryan, the best thing is to simply check in on the final result. The journey is too fraught!

They tried to start. But now raining heavily.

It seems a strange decision to delay the start when the ITF singles matches which began earlier were completed before the rain
