Anaelle is the same age as Millie - both 2003 born.

With a practically identical profile (both with a JWR CH of about 60, both now about 100 or so, both unranked in adults).

Anaelle's was one of the FFT's top picks, at the CNE, but has decided to go the US college route. And really hasn't had any decent results in her forays into adult tennis (and none particularly in juniors either) so it has to be the right move.

I hope Millie is recovered from her injury, but she must be quite match rusty. However, it's now a good result from her, however you look at it. (I would have hoped Millie was doing college or uni tennis, she can't be thinking of turning pro full-time at the moment, surely....)

Not a nice draw for Jasmine.....

Doubles

Not certain when the draw was posted - wasn't up when I looked last night. Wonder if this was pre-arranged, or they hooked up on site

R1: CONWAY, Jasmine (GBR) 1214/1150 lost to REASCO GONZALEZ, Mell Elizabeth (ECU) 2 463/425 3-6 2-6

At one point Jasmine was a break up in the 2nd set but was always struggling to hold her own service.

Two of those seven in the first set were DF in the last game !

Not really fair on the young Brazilian to play in a match like that - you wonder why they were given a WC in the first place.

Thought they'd lost their chance with two DF's at 7-6 in the MTB, but they came through in the end, saving 2MP's

Ahh, that's nice for the youngsters - nothing better than a clutch win when you've saved a couple of MPs

Net 4 points for Amelia which should take her on to 1340-50.

Got to win when points are there - they'll be much harder later.
