Indeed, solid result and perhaps the UKPL helped in getting a fair number of matches, even though he didnt win it as many expected he might

He's one of only 2 seeds left, so hopefully yes.

Could be a good week for GBR men with Jay up 10 and Ryan up 9. Nice to see Jay turning the tide. Ryan has been a stalwart  all year.

Ryan saved breaks points for 4-3 and managed to get it to 5-2

Had match points on the other guy's serve... didn't happen.... 5-3

Tight service game, got broken, now back on serve 5-4*

Every time I follow Ryan on live scores it always seems to be the same - 3 sets, long games, multiple breaks.

From *4-0 up in the 3rd, Ryan went to *4-2, saved bps for 5-2* but got broken serving for it so now 5-4*.

5-5

Started watching at the beginning of the 3rd set. Whether Ryan wins or loses, his tactic appears to be to just keep the ball in play and hope his opponent makes mistakes - all the aggression coming from the other player, all attempts to actually win each point Coming from him too. My heart always wants the Brit to win, but this approach surely only secures you wins if you get lucky. Ryan clearly is a fine player, but if he loses the third set from 4-0 up I think this has to be a valuable lesson.

And now got broken at 5-5 - although, to be fair, this time it was Erel who played a super game

And Erel holds to love.

He deserved those last few games, no question.

But Ryan really had his chances earlier on.....
