May not see any of those travelling to South Africa since the travel ban has just been imposed.

Almost certain no one will be heading to South Africa - I suspect over the next few weeks more routes will get stopped as well. I am due to go to USA over New Year and am keeping a watching eye that the Americans will close the UK-USA route down again

In tennis ranking points world yes almost certain to be bad news re South Africa, which is often a good source of points.

But of course there are more important things.

Jodie and Katie wouold be mad to go to SA regardless of the rules, potentially would jeopardise any AO qualifying, the other 2 not so much

She ended her season in September to do a 9 week pre-season training block. 9 weeks is about the time between when she last played and this week so this might be the start of her 2022 season and a warm-up before heading out to Oz.

Weren't players still able to go to South Africa when it was on the red list previously?

 

Edit: Looks like the SA tournaments have already been cancelled.

Yes, both weeks at Potchefstroom now cancelled, men and womens. Apparently the players were notified by email (from Jodie's Instragram story)

 Fran is now listed as being in the main draw field at Angers - did she close down her season or reopen it again?

As Lambda suggested it rather looks like that is now Fran effectively for her starting out on next season. She's really had her close season
