I have lots to post in this thread, but have to take my neighbour's dog for a walk.

Results so far today [dire from a British perspective]:

M Crugnola [It] bt C Fleming [GB][3] 6-4, 6-3

J Sirianni [Aus] bt N Lalji [GB] 6-1, 6-1

P Baccanello [Aus][4] bt M Phillips [GB] 6-3, 6-3

M Smith [GB][2] bt I Atkinson [GB] 6-3, 7-6[5]

Will explain Colin's bad loss when I get back, same reason as why he and Jamie aren't playing together at the moment.

Is this on tourny on Clay?  I just wonder coz the Brit boys are really struggling.

What happened to Flan the man?  He started the year on fire but has really slowed down.

Nice to see my local(ish) young lad giving Matt Smith a close match.

Its on clay:

Disastrous result:

S Thornley [GB][WC] bt A Slabinsky [GB][WC] 7-6[3], 7-6[8]

Congrats to Sean in getting his 1st wr point but @ slabba. Maybe he was still jetlagged after Japan. I'll find out.

i think this set of results justifies why we dont want a clay challenger!

the country really needs to either push clay much more often and from younger or just say sod it and have a whole bunch more grass events,

i'd go for option 2, how often would we see a non-german, european futures on the grass.

interesting to find out the news on slabbas match, very close, but suprising result, you expect the more experined guy to pull it off in the TB's -  is Sean maybe a great clay player in the making?
