And still the LTA is silent despite the fact that Surbiton and Ilkley clubs confirmed the dates weeks ago. disbelief

The thing is theyve put the Davis Cup in Glasgow on here but not the challengers, which just seems poor.

Not British, but WTA dont appear to have a venue for this years WTA Finals yet- realise last year came together late and its not imperative, but presumably China is out of the question. Back to Mexico or could others bid? With Hologic the new tour sponsor, I wonder where their target markets are?

Finally, Surbiton and Ilkley have been added to the womens ITF calendar. But it does look like Manchester isn't been held this year and there will be a week gap between the 2 W100s unless there is to be something yet to be added.

Following the successful launch of the ITF World Tennis Number last year, LTA Rating will be
replaced by the ITF World Tennis Number from 1 April 2022. This will affect the acceptance and seeding criteria for all LTA British Tour Events from 1 April 2022.

Therefore, order of merit for acceptance & seeding will be based on:

ATP/WTA singles ranking
ITF World Tennis singles ranking of 1500 or better,
ITF World Tennis Number
Open ranking will be used to determine the order of players with the same ITF World Tennis Number

The first British Tour to be affected by these changes will be the LTA British Tour Nottingham Premier Tier (NOT-22-0118) which closes for entries on Monday 11 April at 14:00.

Dear LTA - you are allowed to play up North...
Only Ilkley in the North

No Manchester challenger, nothing at Bolton. Wirral has issues with council cuts...

Interesting to see that for the Wimbledon WC play offs there is a WC for the highest ranked college player to have signed in.

Women's Wild Cards.
1 wild card from winning the LTA British Tour Premier Felixstowe
2 wild cards for the top 2 GB players on the ITF junior ranking list at 13 June having signed in (if
either of the 2 highest ranked juniors have already won U18 Nationals & won a Qualifying wild card
then the next highest ranked junior. If this wild card is not required or accepted the wild card will go
back to the LTA Performance Team)
Top ranked NCAA player having signed in (subject to the player being in the NCAA top 100)
1 discretionary wild card from the LTA Performance Team

Men's Wild Cards.
1 wild card from winning the LTA British Tour Premier Felixstowe
1 wild card from winning the Progress Tour Cromer event
1 wild card for the top GB player on the ITF junior ranking list at 13 June having signed in (if the
highest ranked junior has already won U18 Nationals & won a Qualifying wild card then the next
highest ranked junior. If this wild card is not required or accepted the wild card will go back to the
LTA Performance Team)
Top ranked NCAA player having signed in (subject to the player being in the NCAA top 100)
1 discretionary wild card from the LTA Performance Team

The British Tour Premier at Felixstowe is usually the first event of the grass court season, and has offered wild cards before. May 22nd to 27th this year.

i often wonder why they have slightly different WC structures for men and women eg men offer one to Progress Tour Cromer, why doesnt the womens have that? It is the same for the season long ITF wildcards, slightly differently structured.

Not that it matters but...

Mens and womens fields for the first Nottingham ITF 25 events in 2 1/2 weeks look very strong. Only 2 or 3 Brits directly in at this point - those in the know, will the fields weaken much over two weeks?

The men's tournament has a lot or priority 1 entries, so I imagine quite a few of those will remain.
The women's tournament has a lot of priority 5 and 6 entries, so there will be massive withdrawals by the deadlie, Tuesday 29th March.
