Respectable scoreline for Ali+ though. Hopefully she can continue to move up the doubles rankings if that is going to be her focus moving forward. The QF here should further push her WR up to around 520 against her current CH 547, with almost all her points earned since July this year.

By reaching the SF Lissey matches her 11th counter of 25 points so any further wins will be ranking points profit so could push up her current WR/CH 185.

A shame Katie couldn't have saw it out after the first set, but a very tough opener for R1.

Nice to see Jodie win though, albeit a chalk and cheese draw to Katie. For reference, that Stevanovic who she plays in R2 used to go by the surname of Kostic (I assume she has married this year), but I was looking at the rankings a month or two ago and Stevanovic was a name that I hadn't heard of, before finding out why. She's got a horrific grunt from what I can remember.

Serenely done so far by Jodie.

And she's so far added 6 net points over and above her current 16th counter of 7. So in spite of some injury issues and seemingly in spite of herself still at times this year, she looks likely to be pushing up her current WR / CH 221.

Surely top 200 for starters awaits before too long if she can bring everything together.

Yep, very smoothly indeed.

Potential opponents on court now. Katie's conqueror, and 4th seed, Zheng (who beat Jodie last year) is a set and a break DOWN to Vismane (who Jodie beat in a 2019 final). I was expecting the young Chinese player to come through that, so hopefully she doesn't, ha.

No idea if it effects her game but Jodie seems to be one of the few players these days who never wears a visor or headband. Can't think of anyone else who regularly wears long earrings either.

Zheng has turned it all around and is serving at 5-1 in the final set, but is break points down.

Yeah, she saved 3 MPs and then won 9 games in a row shortly after my post, but a bit more resistance now from the Latvian. At least she is being extended further.
