Order Of Play topic thread?

Just thought Id float an idea out here and see if its got any legs:

It struck me recently that lots of us on this forum might find it helpful to have an Order Of Play topic thread ongoing that we fill in day by day match by match for each other. It could then give us all one place to check to see where and (roughly) when all the brits are playing that day.

I just wondered: do people thought that is something we can make work? Would it be helpful?

Most of us will obviously be checking when our favourite players will play next and either be looking this up for ourselves or going by posts other have put in the separate threads for each tournament - but if people were willing to do the rest of the forum the service of also/instead copying it to an Order Of Play thread then it seems to me that would be really helpful for many of us.

It might help to separate main tour from lower tier etc or something if needs be - just to keep it clear. It would probably work better if people didnt comment too much in the thread too I guess.

Just putting it out there for your thoughts.

It's a good idea, but some thought needs to go into how it works in practice.

At the start of most weeks there can be between 13 and 20 women involved in ITF's alone, and there must be rather more men than that. I do keep a weekly spreadsheet for my own interest showing where the women are playing. Just looking back at random to w/c 29/09/21 out of 33 ranked players and 50 unranked players (who have all entered something somewhere this year) there were 19 entries and 14 participants in singles.

So there are a lot of matches to record, and it would probably best to have separate threads for men and women.

I get the feeling tennisontelly twitter account would help here

Probably not quite what you are looking for but within the TNNS App you can press the Live Button at the bottom of the screen and then within that there is a next up tab.

If you press that then all matches for ATP, WTA, Challenger and ITF come up in rough timing of the days order of play.

On this particular tab it just shows the matches but not the tournament being played and unfortunately I cant see a way to filter so that you can just show the GB players matches.

Might help?

Another alternative is sofascore which gives all the matches for the day withpredicted start times. Looking at the website just now I can see that there are 15 live matches out of 85 scheduled today. No way of filtering them by country though, and at the start of the week during qualifying there are often more than 300 on the schedule.

My suggestion GBJ would be to start such a thread (in the New Year?) and try to update it. I am sure others will add to it too. If it works it could well be as good as the "Friday Feeling" thread but if it dosen't it'll fade away. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Sofa score is very good. You can favourite all the players you wish to follow and the scores come across live.

Some other helpful tips too with the sofascore etc so thanks for those everyone!!

Yes Shhh I was considering doing this....though I really dont check all the order of plays as much as I figured many others do - which is why I decided to just suggest it and ask peoples thoughts for now. I'm kinda curious to give it a go and see whether others found it helpful and joined in etc. but tbh I would do a pretty poor job as I tend to follow a lot less of the players than many others here - and do it a lot more sporadically too....I might still try in the new year though.

Early in the week, but here is an extract of my list for the women for w/c 14/11/21. Click on the image to see the detail.
