Yep needs to fight back from behind already, maybe Wang having already played is working in her favour.

Looks like the fight is seeping out of Emma already (as it did against Marta Kostyuk). Double break 4-1 down. Come on girl we know you can do better than this.

Im just following the score and stats but what that doesnt tell me is winners and errors - is she losing points mostly on UEs?

Not really. Wang is further up the court, dictating the points.

That was very one-sided. 3 breaks and Wang wins first set 6-1.

Would the real Emma Radacanu please stand up.

It's more a matter of Wang hitting winners galore and a few too msny errors from Emma. Wang is looking really good.

And as I type, Emma gets a break in the second set,

Wang looks great. Emma's serve just doing no damage today.

Very different playing when you have a massive target on your back and the tour girls start to really raise their games against you. Will take some getting used to.

It was a struggle but Emma held her serve for two all. She really needs Wang's level to drop here, no doubt Wang is playing out of her skin for a chance to beat the US Open champion.

Ace hinted at Wang's junior record early in the thread. She had a JCH of 2 in 2018, and lost to Iga Swiatek in the semis at junior Wimbledon that year. Never going to be easy.

That what I was going to refer to in my next post, the big target on Emma's back. Emma said she was aware of it and expecting it but  she didn't come out in the first set like she was expecting this level of intensity from Wang at all.

She is beginning to fight for this, hope it's not too late.

Another break for Emma 3-2. She needs to hold now.
