Spanish Team announced, who we will play on the Thursday.

Badosa, Parrizas Dias, Busca, Masarova, Bolsova

Isn't Badosa likely to have the same problem as Swiatek in returning from Fort Worth?

If she qualifies for Fort Worth - she is currently 12th (11th really as Halep is out).

Poland, USA and Spain are all scheduled to play their first matches on Wednesday so Pegula and Gauff will be in the same situation - they are 3 and 4 in the race

Judging from Instagram Jodie's season seems to be over as well, GB looking pretty threadbare if Emma doesn't make it.

Dart and Boulter likely to play with no Raducan. Or will Annie have faith in Katie Swan who, ranked higher now than Boulter, has been winning a lot recently. Or will she back Boulters fed cup history?

I suspect Emma will still be in the team to sell tickets but might pull out just before. Harriet, Heather and the two Katies to make up the rest of the squad. Sonay to come in if anyone withdraws. Would love to see Lissey and Liv in the team but seems unlikely.

I see most have named 5 players.

Is it an actual team of 5 for the matches or a squad of 5 which has to be reduced to 4 before the start?

I cant be certain but guess it will be like the Davis Cup - they name up to 5 players as the squad and choose their team from those 5 for each day. gb mens team used all 5 over the 3 ties we played, if you recall. (Cam, Dan, Andy , Joe and Neal all played).

Whatever way, there should be space for at least one of Lissey or Liv in a squad of 5. Bring in and have a look at how they gel.

I haven't been sure in the past given the relative doubles strength of our singles players but for me now does seem the time.

If Emma is fit to go then Anne should make a decision as to which of our top 5 ranked singles players to leave out to allow a soecialist doubles player in. Not necessarily an easy choice but a choice I think that should be made. You don't need a squad of 5 players covering singles.

It appears to be as you say, JonH. The teams are composed of 4 or 5 players, and the selection for each day is made from those players. No requirement to reduce the team to 4 players in advance.

Does anyone think Harriet and Heather are better at doubles than our specialist doubles players?

Having specialist doubles players didn't help in Davis Cup and they were considerably higher ranked than any of our women doubles players. Maybe if they win a slam or 2 they'll have a case,
