We'll be one of the seeded teams in the playoffs but still a possibility GB will host the finals.

 Is that likely given GB are already one of the Davis Cup group hosts?

 Not to mention the Laver Cup.

When you look at who plays doubles in a deciding rubber the practice appears to be to pick your best singles player and your best doubles player. The Czechs , US and Ukraine all did that. Picking an established doubles pairing who are not top players when the match is  live does not seem to happen in general. As an exception Japan with  a  successful doubles pair beat Jo and Heather in 2018.

Muchova has a doubles ranking of 552. The player with the highest doubles ranking in the Czech squad was Bouzkova. Muchova played doubles with Vondrousova a couple of times last year.

 She doesn't play a lot of doubles. But I see she partnered Pliscova a couple of times last year, including a 2 & 2 win over Dart and Kontaveit in Montreal.

Highlights of the practice sets, which I must say are impressive. They all look to be moving well on clay. I didn't see the tie sadly, as I was 9 hours behind, but from these 5mins they all look decent.

The complete coverage of play from both days is now available on the BBC IPlayer. The doubles match is interesting. I was impressed also by Naomi Broady's commentary.

@Kheredine @Kheredine2018
Glasgows autumn of tennis could get bigger yet. Am hearing Emirates Arena is in pole position to land the big
@BJKCup
finals in November , which would mean Britain (
@EmmaRaducanu
& Co) would qualify as hosts. 2 other European cities are also bidding.
@ITFTennis
meeting Mon/Tues

That would be very exciting - not sure I agree with the idea of a team knocked out then qualifying as hosts but if it is GB, Ill forgive that!

 I was about to say "home of the deep fried Mars bar" but apparently it's Stonehaven (Wiki).
