So, huge congratulations to Sonay Kartal who today, 12/02/22, and having been accepted as a wildcard, took the title at the 25k at Birmingham.



(She beat Talia Neilson-Gatenby in three sets)

Sonay won the title at the Notts 25k today,

Final: KARTAL, Sonay (GBR) (8) 371 def LAO, Danielle (USA) (2) 303 6-1 6-0

In addition, as Steven points out:

"Sonay Kartal has now won 20 of her last 21 singles matches on the ITF World Tour, and 36 out of 39 (92%) since returning to the tour last October and this week's title should see her rise about 50 places to around 320 on Monday week."

15 people picked Sonay in their top ten predictions, with an average ranking of 375. A further 6 picked her as their reserve, with an average of 352. She has way surpassed that, and it is only early May !
Onl three people predited her to be inside the top 300 by the end of the year.
