Did you mean the slicing was dodgy Pancho P? I only saw highlights.

Also how do people think the courts here compare to Indian Wells which I heard compared to clay.

If the scale is US Open (fast) to Indian Wells (slow), then Transylvania seems to me to be medium. Players that are prepared to commit to their attacking shots can get the ball through the court without too much difficulty. Certain types of shot do appear to sit up when they bounce. If anything, the shorter players seem to find it easier to fire the ball through the court. I've watched several matches. I was a bit surprised that Emma didn't find it as easy to penetrate the court as some other players have done.

No, I meant the result was very much in doubt throughout the 2nd set. Emma s slice shot was grrrreat !

After saving a couple of break points in the 1st game Emma seems to have got into her stride:- 3-0*

6-3 *4-3

Lost an early break but gets it back. Some good defence from Bodgan making it hard work.

I know she has to get over the line but I think this week she has so far clearly shown she is definitely a top 100 player - I know that sounds daft but it almost feels like she needs to build up that body of evidence to support the heights she has reached at the USO and her real ranking of 20ish.

Emma wins 6-3 6-4

Yes, it should be daft but there does seem to be the quite "unnecessary noise" at this time that I commented earlier about. Anyway, well done her on another win.
