If the scale is US Open (fast) to Indian Wells (slow), then Transylvania seems to me to be medium. Players that are prepared to commit to their attacking shots can get the ball through the court without too much difficulty. Certain types of shot do appear to sit up when they bounce. If anything, the shorter players seem to find it easier to fire the ball through the court. I've watched several matches. I was a bit surprised that Emma didn't find it as easy to penetrate the court as some other players have done.
I know she has to get over the line but I think this week she has so far clearly shown she is definitely a top 100 player - I know that sounds daft but it almost feels like she needs to build up that body of evidence to support the heights she has reached at the USO and her real ranking of 20ish.
