I've not had much chance to watch ITF junior and TE comps for a couple of years, but I'm hoping to see the J5 and TE comp at Liverpool in a couple of weeks. With little happening on the National team comps, I've got limited knowledge on who to look our for.
Viktor Friedrich and Ben Gusan Wan are the only names I know in the younger athletes.

I think he's Frydrych, not that it matters.
Not in the know, but there are several of the very young girls that I'd like to see, if I were going to week 1. And about whom I know next to nothing apart from what's all publicly out there.
Amalia Widdowson is 2008 and in qualis.
Abby Kelliher (2007) has had good results this year.
Also, Serena Manca, Lois Newberry ...
But most of the older girls I've seen several times and no one jumps out that I'd want to rush to their court to see again, although some have some nice tennis, of course.
Of the boys, I'd be interested in throwing a quick look at Phoenix Weir, and Henry Searle, but not sure about any others in particular
On the boys side I would add (from results in Tennis Europe plus the Nationals) Oliver Bonding (top ranked TE), Max Carrier (who some of us watched doing well at Les Petits As) and Joe Mazingham (beat Ben Gusic Wan to win the Nationals). They are all unranked and therefore low down the alternates, requiring wildcards.

Goodness, I hadn't even looked that far down, but you're quite right (not surprisingly ), that's a very decent batch of up-and-comings. Do you expect them to get qualis wildcards? Not main draw? Or just one, say?

They all should score highly on the LTA's wild card criteria, so i think they would all be disappointed if they remain fit and available and are not offered at least a quali wildcard.
Ah in that case it may not be possible to cater for all 3 at the Grade 5 (just 4 main draw wildcards in total), but there is a Grade 4 the following week with qualifying, for any of the three that miss out on week 1
Could be wrong but I think the first week of ITF Liverpool Cat 5 is maindraw only, no qualifying.

OK, so the main draw wildcards will be more important.
Also means that there's a surprisingly high number of foreigners, for a J5 Uk event, (especially given the dodgy travel and infection numbers). As we usually have quite a few UK qualifiers (as the qualis is often heavily domestic).
12u boys are the week before in Bath. A boy called Mark Ceban seems to be clearing up at that age group. From LTA pictures he looks like a giant compared to the rest, will be interesting to see if that continues as others catch up in size and power. Also in that age group is Andrew Richardsons son, who will no doubt be part of the LTA favoured group.
12u girls only 1 I know of and she must be street ahead of the rest - Hannah K
