Now 42 points for the week, this so far will take Matilda up to 110 points on Monday week and into a very tight currently projected GB #12 to #16 for 01/11.

Beth 111, Matilda 110, Katy D 110, Mandy 110, Eden 106.

The title here would take her up to 135 points ( and in one week very nearly double her existing 68 points ) so current #11 Tara ( 131 points ) has decided to get on her bike and stick in a fine WTA 250 QR1 win to make sure she stays ahead for now!

Great to see such movement from beyond the for a while very clear GB top 10, with Matilda's sharp progress looking extremely encouraging.

 Chloe is top 200 so I was hoping Matilda could atleast keep her on court for an hour and she has easil managed that so definitely competing well.

As emmsie implies, that's a very decent score for Matilda, against a woman with Pacquet's ranking and experience. She's nothing stand-out but she's very solid, and probably fairly enough ranked at 200 or so.

Excellent week for our 2004-born player.

 Always likely to be a step too far at this stage but Matilda continuing to make steady progress under the radar.
