Hopefully these links work.

Cool, I remember Joel Cannell, I hope he gets back to fitness - it says it can take 4 years to recover so I hope it does not mean his tennis career boat has sailed

I don't know if this has been talked about elsewhere so forgive me if I'm repeating a question already asked...5 years ago Freya was on the verge of making slam qualies but can't seem to get it together, despite playing a lot of tennis. People in the know - is this due to injury, mental or fitness, or something else entirely? She had a big game in juniors that looked like it might translate well but it has never worked out for her.

Wasn't her partner really quite ill a couple of years back?

Do we know if the young man remained clear and is doing well? Fingers crossed for him/them (assuming they are still a couple?)

Wowzer, that's got to be Freya's best result for ages:

R1: CHRISTIE, Freya (GBR) (Q) 760 (CH=286 2016) def. ZHAO, Carol (CAN) 330 (CH=131 2018) 6-2 7-6(5)

Thrilled for her, she must be feeling very happy right now, the type of match she has been losing repeatedly

Freya's second serve deserted her in the second set. 3 DF's in one game for the first break, 2 in the last game for the second break.

She needs to be winning matches like this if she is going to climb back up the rankings, but it wasn't going to be easy against a player who's been winning matches at W25 and W60 level this year.
