Not a British player but former World junior champion American Whitney Osuigwe won her 1st round singles match after 17 successive defeats. Unfortunately she had to retire in her 2nd round match.
Emily is caught between two stools. She needs 25K points for doubles but can't score singles points at that level. She did, in the past, win several 25K R1 matches but then got injured, Difficult to know what to do,

I think she's only won about 2 in her entire career, and one of those was against that UK based Lithuanian who she could have been playing in the British Tour events. It's a shame, while many on here thought she should, I admired her confidence and ambition to avoid the college route, as in most cases, especially on the women's side, I often think we won't be seeing much of them down the line if they do that, but it likely was the best thing for her. Even her results in the UKPL suffered a bit later on, some heavy and surprise defeats, and scraping by in others.
I'm sure she can probably get back towards her career high of 501 achieved almost 3 years to the day, but I'm not sure if there's much beyond that, but I do very much hope she proves me wrong, as she's a player who I like to see do well, more than many.
The US week 42 25K has been cancelled but Emily is down for the Austin 25K in week 43. She has 48 doubles points halved (last of her 2019 points) at the start of November.
