Drat. Should have completed the comeback in the first set, she was *40-0 up at *5-5. Also had a set point at 6-5* in the second.

There are some tough Q/LL spots in the draw. hopefully Harriet will dodge the worst ones if she makes it through

Now you mention it, hopefully she will get one of them.

Sakkari withdrew to open one LL spot up. Kontaveit is still there (Sakkari's Ostrava final opponent) and she doesn't have a bye in R1, so could maybe be an opening there too.

The Q4 seed also lost in the FQR, but 1, 2, 3, 7 are through, and 5 and 6 are currently on court, so she could still sneak in yet.

Qualifying complete and Q seeds 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 all advanced, so Harriet will definitely be in with a shot of a LL spot. I can't remember if it's 2 or 3 in a hat, but Harriet and Q4 Govortsova will certainly be involved in it.

L28: Emina Bektas & Tara Moore (USA/GBR) CR 247 (122+125) vs (5) Nicole Melichar-Martinez & Demi Schuurs (USA/NED) CR 35 (18+17)

L28: Harriet Dart & Tereza Mihalikova (GBR/SVK) CR 313 (194+119) vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich & Tamara Zidansek (BLR/SLO) CR 137 (59+78)

With the top 4 seeds getting byes to R2, Emina & Tara have drawn the highest seeds competing in R1.

The score was 6-3 6-0, so either a tremendous performance, or Garcia is struggling.

According to the draw, Harriet is playing Haddad Maia

I assume Lauren Davis has withdrawn.

As usual the WTA website is behind, but the app does show Harriet in as a LL. It'll be interesting to see how she gets on against in-form Beatriz.
