Dan and Cam in singles in IW, not sure if Andy is after a wildcard or not. Given his lack of progress, I wonder at what point he will start finding it hard to get wildcards? Maybe through this year and then...?
Wasn't Andy v. Stefanos the longest match of the whole tournament? He is in decent shape, better than me anyway! Perhaps he may not be no. 1 again, but I'm sure there will be flashes of brilliance.
Why would a 3 time GS winner and 2 time gold medalist find it hard to get a WC?
Isnt there a limit on how many you can get ? Plus do all tournie directors necessarily want a British oldie !? I would but
Five main draw singles draw wild cards only in any ATP circuit year - unless you are over 35
"Any player who becomes thirty-five (35) years of age by December 31 of an ATP circuit year shall be exempt from the wild card limitation if he is: i) A former singles Champion of a Grand Slam; or ii) A former singles Champion of the ATP World Championships, Tennis Masters Cup or Nitto ATP Finals; or iii) A former No. 1 ranked player in the ATP Singles Rankings prior to January 2000; or iv) A former No. 1 player in the year-end ATP Rankings."
Andy will be 35 on 15th May 2022, so a little while to go yet.

given this is his 8th tour event of the year, surprised hes not reached his 5 WC's? Or do US and WImbledon not count as ATP Tour in this context??

Didn't he get in by right to the US open
Yeah, but surely hes had more than 5? Or will with San Diego and Antwerp coming up?
Wild cards so far this year - I'm assuming Challenger and GS don't count in the total.
Challengers - Biella and Rennes
ATP - Montpellier, Rotterdam, Queens, Cincinatti, Winston Salem
GS - Wimbledon
As I read the rulebook, he could petition the ATP for an additional WC for being out injured for over six months (but he hasn't recently - it was earlier), or actually petition the ATP for an exception to the limitations.
In other words, if the ATP want him on the tour, he can have any WC he wants !!

Well Metz, San Diego and Antwerp make that list 8, Indian Wells would make it 9. something is going on!
