Em and Rutuja break to go up 3-1 in the 1st set. You can tell theyve played together with success before (at 25K level).

Made a mess of that. Had 40-0* at 4-3*, but missed a couple of returns. Lost the deuce point in the next game too.

So from 4-1* to 4-5*

Another 3 break points missed in that game. Should have won that set. Very frustrating but the scoring system punishes you for being wasteful at deuce.

4-6 *0-0

Looked very comfortable at 4-1*, and then just allowed it to slip away by failing to take their chances. That 4-3* game was so important.

Should have broken again, but lost the deuce point and the set 4-6.

They started well, but the errors have crept in and are increeasing.

That's 8 games now. Completely unravelling.

0-3*

Emina and Tara have a great shot at winning this event. It's a pretty even field.

The title would take Tara to GB#1 ranked doubles player.

If not to be this week she is still very well placed and after this week will have earned 10 of her 11 counters this year with her remaining counter of 50 from October 2019 able to be replaced by a 30. So after this week at maximum she can drop 20 points for the remainder of the year, and the way things have been going she probably will beat the 30 too some time later this year.

In live rankings she is at 124 which would be another CH.

I would really like to see her partnering Emina at Wimbledon next year even if they don't qualify together for direct entry. Hopefully though they will yet get in directly.

Em and Ru lose 6-4 6-4. When it clicked it was great to watch, but they were wasteful at crucial moments. Really should not have lost that first set.

Yes, they had their chances. Only took 2 out of 11 break points - their opponents were 4/6

Katie really struggling against Putintseva. Lost the first set 6-3 and broken first game of the second.

May get the break back. However, she's clearly feeling some discomfort in her arm which is strapped quite a bit.

Usual slow start for Katie, but at least she's competing in every game now, although not able to get the break back. *1-3

She could do with a proper break and getting that arm sorted. It's been taped and causing her issues for months.

Yes got to feel that she'd get back into the top 100 if she could have a decent period properly fit and well.
