Does Paquet actually have a backhand ? She seems to be running round to play her forehand at every opportunity.
Well the backhand came into play in the second set. The play was closer than the score suggests, but it was Beth that just missed the lines and that seemed to make the difference. The umpire was down on the court quite a few times to check marks.

Bit of a battle, but Fran finished it off well. An additional 17 points from that win (35-18), and should be worth a rise of around 7 places and a new CH
Taking into account the assumed dropping of 57 ranking points from last year's WTA Prague 125, Fran is so far down a net 11 points. But that still has her up 5 places in live rankings, up to live 165 which would be a CH.
Yes, OER has taken account of those 57 points dropping (but at the moment hasn't added in today's result). Live-tennis.eu is up to date though with the new CH
