Thats a shame for Andy and Antony, ends our quads campaign empty handed and Andy doesnt win a medal after winning silver and bronze last two times out.
We are guaranteed a silver at least in mens doubles and bronze in mens singles, and should end up much better than that.
Jordanne sadly lost her womens singles semifinal just now, although an expected loss against the top seed. Jordanne gets to play for bronze now.
In terms of other action, jordanne and Lucy are still in the doubles hunt as are alfie and Gordon. In singles, Alfie and Gordon both go in mens singles semis later today, hoping to make the gold medal match.
Again, no surprise, but Gordon loses to the Japanese top seed and world number
One in straight sets in his semi. Bronze match for Gordon, and Jordanne, to come.
Alfie to come. Our gold hopes are now resting on Alfie, Alfie and Gordon in doubles , and Lucy and Jordanne in womens doubles
Lucy and Jordanne have won the opening set in their doubles semifinal , would be good if we have two sets of players going for Gold in the finals. As well as the two bronze medal matches in singles
And Jordanne and Lucy indeed win their semi and into the final.
In summary we have:
Mens Doubles Gold or Silver - Alfie and Gordon
Womens Doubles Gold or Silver - Lucy and Jordanne
Mens Singles Bronze - Alfie OR Gordon
Womens Singles Bronze (or nothing) - Jordanne
If things go with seedings, we can hope for Gold, Silver, Bronze and 4th respectively from those - slightly less than might have been expected at the start of the tournament - but lets hope the guys can maximise it and get 2 x Gold, 2 x Bronze (which would beat expectations!)
