Some super aggressive tennis from Emma, more so than usual but could have punished more of the inviting 2nd serves. Burel's returns off the Raducanu first serve were unreal during that 2nd set.

Emma struggles with her first groundstroke immediately after her serve. When she figures that out, she'll be a really good player.

Yes, she could be quite decent next year if she manages a good close season to work on a few areas and in particular builds up her stamina. It must all be a bit of a blur for her just now. 

I see Americans Liu and Li are quarter finalists. They  were the 2 finalists at Junior Wimbledon 2017.

Allowing for her 29 QF points so far here, Emma is now up to 465 points from 14 out of the maximum 16 counters.

Of these, regards points to come off for the remainder of the year, she has 93 points from 5 ITF counters from September through to December 2019 ( nothing latterly from 2020 ) including 51 points from her Pune 25K title in the December*. The ATP are supposed to be stopping taking just 50% off for old ITFs from the next rankings, 23/08. I'm not sure regards the WTA?

Early 2022 will be her quietest period for points due off as she has only 42 points left from three January to May 2020 and 2021 counters. 

So only 135 at most due off before next June, with her remaining 330 points all earned in her 6 tournaments from June onwards this year.

In summary, of her current live 465 points :

93 are from September to December

42 are from January to May

330 are from June to August this year, so none of these need defended until next summer.

* By the way, her Pune points are not due off until 20/12/21 which will be after the rankings date applicable for the Aussie Open 2022 MD entry list.
