Positively - Dans draw is very nice. Lets hope he can get a run going.

I guess that's the joy of not having a seeding to protect you.

In a way it's good I guess cos Andy's body will be freshest at this point, and then would have a few easier matches.

Emmsie posted this in the coronavirus thread:

"According to an article in The Guardian, less than 50% of pro tennis players have been vaccinated and Dan Evans was due to get his 2nd Pfizer when he tested positive."

In the same article, Dan said he was still trying to get his fitness back.

It didn't make it clear if it was lost fitness from simply being ill and not training. Or lost fitness from more specific covid symptoms.

But good luck to him, and the others.

Surely attitudes will change lots of athletes have taken a substantial amount of time to get back to peak performance after COVID. Not getting vaccinated will cost them money.

Self-indulgent post (sorry) but as a huge Andy fan, I'm beside myself excited at getting to see him live and in-person play tomorrow for the very first time. Bucket list item checked off!

Helpfully, the open have put Cam, Jo, Heather, and Dan on the same court so that's where you'll find me if there are any other New York-based brits going tomorrow!

I was like that with Federer in 2019, I only sat on my Centre court seat for that match then had a wonderful day watching the Brits, I'm sure you will too.
