Harriet was struggling physically in the second set, had a MTO midway through for a foot / back issue, and was visibly hampered, but dug in so well. She was 6-1 up in the TB, and it was clawed back a bit, but I was so pleased when she finally converted, not least as it's 2.30am, but I'm not sure if she would have came out for the decider had it went that way.

Should be a day off now, and another Canadian challenge in Andreescu, the technical defending champion (Toronto). Hopefully she will have recovered physically, but a marvellous week regardless.

Looks like harriet back on today. Nb midnight our time. Jo is also on at 4 pm our time

Such a great win! Real battling performance it seems. Shame has has to come out again tonight and doesn't get a rest day though.

Is it just me or does Harriet's serve have a little bit more pop on it than it used to? I thought that watching the Wimbledon mixed and also a couple of points from last night.

Great stuff by Harriet.

Hopefully the calf issue isn't too bad but if it is or there is a real danger of making it worse, the right call at this time would probably be to pull out.

Jo misses a couple of break back points and loses the first set 6-4.

Not bad considering how long since she played but she doesn't normally lose sets to Zhang, so not a good omen.
