Pre tournament I did not have us down as medalists in the hockey after some rather poor performances since our gold in Rio. But a 3rd successive medal for our women after beating India 4-3 in the bronze match. Indian players in tears.
Modern Pentathlon - something I would have loved to have had a try atThe show jumping is always an interesting watch, every time seems to be one very difficult horse. German rider lost out on the gold due to not being able to get the horse round the course. Was hard to watch as she was sobbing so much Brit Kate French is 4th at the moment

Kate won the gold though?!
Bit out on the timings there - Kate won the gold a few hours ago with a brilliant run in the final event.
Two golds, two silvers and three bronze today, taking the total to 58 (according to the BBC)
And GB now guaranteed at least 60 medals with 2 boxing finalists still to fight for gold or silver.
I said earlier that I thought 60 plus GB medals would make it a great games and that's now ticked off. With China and the US so strong, an arguably not nearly as depleted as they should have been Russia, the host country doing so well, plus an annoyingly good games for the Aussies, GB has done so well to be right in the mix again.
Back to just edging 'Russia' and Australia in 4th place (18,17 & 17 golds) and also 4th for total allocated medals, in between 'Russia' and Japan (62, 58 & 51).
We only have 2 medals in athletics. UKA predicted 8-9 medals. We only have 2-3 realistic chances for further medals in athletics
UKA is a mess. The new CEO doesn't know what she is doing. No sponsors, no TV deal. Too much focus on gender equality. UKA have no money. Their funding will get cut after the Olympic review.
The future is not great.
Hmm, very optimistic from the outset even with a fit KJT and Dina A-S. And KJT at least was well known to have a major issue.
To be fair athletics picked up. 6 medals with 3 silver and 3 bronze thanks to the Scottish 1500m runners and the two 4x100m relays. Laura Muir and the relays delivered and Josh Kerr added an extra unanticipated one.
First time though since 1996 that no athletic golds and our men in particular are a general concern going forward.
So GB will be up to at least 64 medals in total. 20 gold, 21 silver and 22 bronze with Lauren Price's boxing final to come. And, as paulisi says, further cycling chances on the final day.
Now so close to our London and Rio final medal totals. London 65 ( 29G, 17S, 19B ) Rio 67 ( 27G, 23S, 17B )

It seems to me that British athletics has the same problem with injuries as British tennis. Morgan Lake had to pull out today to add to Dina, KJT, Adam Gemili. Much as I've enjoyed the medals we have won I can't help feeling we must be doing something wrong?
Not sure if our athletes are comparatively that bad for injuries. To an extent injury issues come with the territory as they push their bodies so much and many athletes from all nations miss out on major championships.
Maybe a bit more highlighted because KJT and Dina A-S still gave it a go in Tokyo. And Adam Gemili was perhaps plain unlucky.
I think our repeated tennis injuries are more concerning.
There were more than 40 countries who won medals in athletics, how does this compare to other sports. I think it's harder to be the best in athletics due to the amount of opposition, so any medal is brilliant

Well there are 58 athletics events. Agree almost all medals in themselves are brilliant. Overall GB has had a great Olympics but I do think some concerns about GB athletics are valid, eg. field events, eg. our men overall.
