I don't really understand why the Beeb etc are so slow in reporting Brits if they aren't already well known. Would it just have killed them to mention Loan and Cam who have both had significant wins today. Grrrr.

Loan and Cam sounds like a dodgy debt collection agency

Is seems the BBC no longer have the rights to show all of the Olympics.

L16:  Ben McLachlan & Kei Nishikori (JPN/JPN) CR 862o9i9 (38+824) defeated (7) Jamie Murray & Neal Skupski CR 38 (22+16) by 3 & 4  cry

Why am I not surprised?

I think this was always going to be tough for Jamie and Neal, not at all surprised.

As an aside, anyone know when the mixed field is set and draw taking place? I thought it was today, Monday, but nothing appearing on the Olympics site...

It's 11am local time tomorrow. Joe and Heather will be 7/8 out based on current entries on Olympics site and Australia, Belgium, Spain, Poland still to confirm who they are entering.

Heather of course got in as an alternate in 2016 with Andy, but seems unlikely lightning will strike twice for her.

 Thanks PaulM

Is there an entries list on the Olympics site itself ? Do you have a link you could post please, it would be very much welcomed!!

I found this but a) it doesnt show them as pairs, so you have to do some maths and b) based on my quick maths it suggests that GB would be 15th ranked team?

How did you get them to be 7/8 out, is the list below missing some entrants?

So as long as no more entries then Heather & Joe should get in?

Yes, but several more entries are expected before sign in closes tomorrow - Australia will have two higher ranked pairs, Poland, Belgium and Spain all expected to enter a pairing. A couple if the pairs there will be accepted using protected rankings (Shvedova and Vesnina) putting them ahead of the Brits.

Spain put a pair on the list then pulled out. All their women have a 100% record so it's possible Badosa and Garbine don't want to add a third event. Also rumours Swiatek is heading straight home. If so, then whilst it's likely Joe and Heather will still miss out, it won't be by very much, giving more of an opportunity they could sneak in once play begins. Fingers crossed. A few hours to go.

The whole process is crazy - they should have solid entries like all other sports before they arrive. Feels like a mockery though.

Reading the whole tennis forum thread, some folks obviously have some inside info or speculatively forecasting late entries in the next couple of hours. Britain stands 15th as per above but it seems the narrative suggests we will get demoted and out . Sadly.
