What a joke, you seriously can't be that unfit that you can't come and give a medal match a try.

I hope Djokovic managed to give a convincing explanation to his partner. I may not be an Olympic mixed doubles supporter, but it is still very sad to see someone, for whom that bronze no doubt mattered rather more, denied a chance of an Olympic medal by whatever ailed their partner in body and/or mind.

I'm not a fan of the sniping from the sidelines allusions to doping. Nadal and now Djoko, if they're doping I wan't them taken down with no excuses or vague apologies, I don't care who it is. Demeans and belittles every clean player on the tour.

What demeans and belittles every clean sportsperson is the hit and miss drug testing allowing drug cheats to prosper and that isn't a dig at particular people, thats a dig at the sporting bodies that bury their head in the sand,  Murray and Federer are both on record as saying there isn't enough drug testing in Tennis, Djokovic thinks there is.  Federer claims that while he is in Switzerland he gets tested pretty regularly because the tester lives in his Village but he can't remember ever being tested when he is Dubai at any point in the last 15 years.  Testing is at best sporadic and location dependent so easy to avoid out of competition. Using the 'oh I have to provide an hours window for drug testing' as a reason why it's taken seriously is disingeuous if you live somewhere where you know you're practically guaranteed to not get tested or as in Federers case and most top sportspeople have more than 1 location and know that you are more likely to get tested in 1 place, you can fiddle the system by spending time while you are clean in that place and then using your 2nd location for a drug doping regime. I'm also sceptical that any sport would announce one of its highest profile athletes testing positive, look how long Lance Armstrong got away with it. Djokovic raises my radar because he claims there is enough testing, I don't think that is a reasonable stance.  He very well may be clean and simply naive but all the time he says there is enough testing I'll remain sceptical.

Well done to Zverev, not that i like him, but a big win for him.

So Germany, Russia, Croatia, Czech Republic and Switzerland get 1 gold each. Czech, Croatia and Swiss got a silver but Russia get two silvers overall, I think, and top the tennis medal tables.

My concern has always been with Djoko and Nadal. Nadal in the days gone past when he seemed to have pumped body and endless energy , Djoko because hes had this ability to bounce back in the fifth hour of matches and find reserves of energy that makes no sense.

ive always thought if it makes no logical sense, then doubt it.

I have no evidence though and realise I am playing tittle tattle and probably being unfair.

I would say generally that cases such as Erikssen, Liverpool FC, cyclists like Froome, Mo Farah, all raise my radars and raise a lot of questions. No evidence once again, just doubts.

I'm on the fence with Mo because he actually isn't that fast, infact I think 5 or 6 Men in the 5000m at London had run faster than his winning time that year alone, what he was, was a fantastic championship performer but really it was poor race strategy by the other competitors that handed him all those medals and his fast last lap.

ETA in 2012 37 Men ran 10,000m faster than the Olympic Final which was Mo's fastest time that year and 10 Men ran faster than his winning 5k time.  I think his collaboration iwth Alberto Salazar makes him suspect but his times definitely don't

Erikssen - the heart attack, inter Milan links, similar to Muamba and the doping rumours that surrounded Bolton.

liverpools high velocity , high tempo game was commented on by many and their drop off this season also.

I forget who but there is a journo out their who has written extensively about doping in football, the above stories but also Pep, spain and Italy generally.

ive no proof of anything but just repeating rumours and my own concerns tbh.
