Boys: JA Milan, Italy, clay (Week 28)

The long-running Trofeo Bonfiglio usually acts as a warm-up for most of the top Juniors prior to the French Open. Local Covid restrictions saw it postponed to July, where it now precedes the European Championships in Switzerland, or at least it does for most European nations.  Unfortunately there will be no British presence there, nor in any of the junior summer team competitions (including Davis Cup and Billie Jean Cup).

Interest here in singles evaporated on the first day, as Derrick Chen lost to the North Macedonian some of us watched against Jack PJ at Wimbledon.  Derrick plays his doubles round 1 tomorrow.

R1 (L64)

Kalin Ivanovski (MKD) d. Derrick Chen 6-4 6-4
