So is Beth playing out of her skin or Amanda having a bad day at the office?

I'm not sure that Beth would have to play out of her skin to be competitive with the pretty normal Mandy of late. But good that she did get so much closer. Now would be a good time to see a better version of Mandy.

Probably worth putting money on it !

Beth still having problems on serve. Double break down at 1-5*. 22 points in three games. Mind you, Mandy has had 20 points in her three service games, but we kind of expect that.

Hope you did! Fran v Mandy it is

Bah, there are times when all Brit ties are fine, even welcome. But not in a weak 60K when Fran is top seed and there were plenty much preferable options for Mandy.

Saved set points at *4-5 and won the final 4 points of the tiebreak. Well done.

Fran up an early break on Mandy.

Fran obviously wore her opponent down with that 1hour 10 minute first set. Fran served for it at *5-4 and was broken, and then it went to the tie-break, which Fran took 13-11. The second set lasted just 26 minutes with her opponent winning just 8 points - 6 on serve.

In fact she's the only seed left now. But those remaining weren't far off the seeding - Mendez and Stafanini were ranked 275 and 278 at entry, although they are in the other half of the draw.
