I wouldn't under estimate Naiktha's opponent. She only lost narrowly to Amanda at the beginning of May in her only pro match to date. Since then she's had some wins against top 30 juniors and in her last junior match narrowly lost in the final of a grade 2 to the current junior 28. Although Naiktha should win, she may be made to work for it.
Jodie saved a couple of break points to hold for 3-1* and broke again for 5-1*.
Fairly bad tempered between the two of them from early doors. Gasanova is really quite annoying, Jodie was complaining at length to the umpire about something but couldn't quite hear what.
I wonder if the pressure of securing a Wimbledon wild card really affected Jodie and her results over the past couple of months, having lost one due to injury 2019 and last years cancellation. I hope now she can use this as a platform to reset; a great result. Good luck in the MD.

Great result for Jodie after a long barren spell. She's also been quite upset by trolls on social media for some time so should take her mind off the haters. Hopefully Naiktha can take advantage of her kind draw as well.
