Hopefully some of the College players home from the US to freshen things up.

I haven;t een a list of paticipants yet, but looking at my list of entries for WTA and ITF events it does seem that the list for Aldershot will be mainly as for the last event, plus a few college players with luck. So I would expect to see Eliz, Tanysha, Dani, Tiff and maybe Esther. Lissey, Freya, Emily and Liv don't appear to be playing anywhere else, so might take part.

The website says it is a different format now- 4 groups of 3 over 3 days then play offs

The UK Pro League (known as the UK Pro Series in 2020) is a professional tennis tournament, where British pro tennis players compete in ten individual week-long qualifying events leading to a Final Week where the UK Pro Champion is decided.

Each event week is an individual week-long qualifying event where players earn League points in order to qualify for the UK Pro League Final week.

Each week consists of a 12 player mens and womens draw with players split into four pools of 3 to play a round robin format ahead of playing quarter finals, semis and final ranking games over the weekend.

The League has a Prize Fund in excess of £750,000 and will be broadcast on BT Sport in the UK.

WEEKS 1 - 10

DAYS 1-3: ROUND ROBIN

DAYS 4-6: PLAYOFFS

DAY 7: FINALS

I think that was how finals week was planned but now it seems its being applied to other weeks. Im not sure how it works though , top 2 in each group of 3 into last 8. Then two groups of 4 over days 4 to 6? Then a finals day? Although write up suggests knockout quarters and semis? Not sure!

They say that the top 2 progress to the quarter-finals, so I'd assume it was straight knock-out from there. The bottom players fromeach group play round-robin for places 9-12 over three days.

Players must play 5 matches now instead of 7? 2 initial groups matches and then qf, sf, and final. With rest days across the piece. Maybe as players are generally playing more, it was decided it was important.

Is it really fair to change the format halfway through?

I have managed to get the entry list from a friend who is in the loop down in Aldershot but he could only get the entry list for the women and it is as follows

Freya Christie
Emily Appleton
Eliz Maloney
Tanysha Dissanayake
Sonay Kartal
Marni Banks
Jasmine Conway
Anne Brogan
Amilia Bissett

Im not sure why he sent through 9 names maybe one is an alternate.

Excellent work - its in fact a 12 player entry list in both events. 4 groups of 3, so possibly 3 more names to add to the 9!

Is aldershot an indoor centre or outdoor? Presumably hardcourts either way?

No Marni or Tanysha, but tables are out:

ukproleague.com/week-5/

Freya, Nadia, Grace - Eliz, Jasmine, Emma W - Emily A, Anna B, Danielle - Holly H, Sonay, Amelia B

The odd number in the groups at least allows a rest day now, which I'm not against, although time will tell how the actual format will work.
