I couldn't agree more. I thought these 125 events offered good preparation for the US Open - especially for those playing qualies - as well as offering a good opportunity to pick up decent points. I just can't understand why none of our girls have shown any interest. I exclude Fran from this criticism as she has been busy in Europe. If only some of the others showed the same dedication and hard work that she does.
Lissey and Liv playing doubles in Poland, as is Ali. Freya in doubles in Germany Alice and Annali in Monastir Emilie in Finland
Plenty of byes in the WTA125's, but no Brits.
Sorry, can't post any draws for a couple of days, too hard from my phone
I would love to understand what scheduling our ladies are aiming for. Or are they all quietly injured again.
Hopefully they re-appear for the US hard court swing.
Presumably they are aiming for a schedule that doesn't involve playing on clay. Hard court tournaments above 15K are few and far between at the moment.
Only Harriet, Katie B and Emma haven't played since Wimbledon. Boulter is presumably giving her elbow additional time to recover and doesn't want to take any chances on clay. Fran, Jodie, Naiktha and Sam have all played a couple of weeks and Swan hasn't played since she retired at the beginning of the month.
I hope we will see the leading GB women ready for the US hard court court swing and other hard court opportunities. But I think Sardinia puts the general situation since Wimbledon into reasonable context re such as hard court opportunities have been taken up ( and ranking points won ) and these current ones are more clay concentrated, which suits such as Fran but not others, plus such as the Katies can additionally reasonably use this period to try and clear up injury issues.
