Imagine Emma will withdraw and take the week off to plot her US swing. Good idea to take a week to decompress from her fabulous run (whatever the result tomorrow).
I wondered about that, I'm assuming she'll get the odd WC and is it 6 weeks before her new ranking kicks in?
She'll get the new ranking on Monday, so it will apply for ITF entries for w/c 2nd August (entry deadline 15th July). Not sure about WTA entry deadlines.

LordBrownof's prediction turned out to be correct, though it took a while for Emma to withdraw.
The respective entry deadlines are 6 weeks prior for WTA 1000/500/250 main draw, 4 weeks for WTA 125, 3 weeks for WTA qualifying and ITF main draw events. 6 weeks for Grand Slams main draw, 4 weeks for Slam qualifying (I've just looked this up in the WTA rule book)

There are different entry deadlines this year due to covid. WTA1000 events that are joint with ATP are 4 weeks to align with ATP and all WTA500/250 are 4 weeks for main draw
Emma could have withdrawn from the W60 because she is close to getting into Prague (no idea if she is on the alt list) as Katie B and Jodie did, or because she has being given a WC, not that the Czechs have any shortage of home women to give them to.
With 3 WTA250 events and 3 W60s and a lot of the top 100 taking the week off or preparing for the Olympics the women's fields are spread pretty thin next week

It's a shame they are withdrawing as it's a great opportunity to potentially add some big points with fields depleted.
3 WTA 250s and 3 W60s feels like London buses whle later on they may be nowhere to be seen with more people wanting to board. That seems a lot at any time and explains weak looking fields.
