Two long games there, and Jodie survives them both 3-4*

Not certain what to make of her body language at the moment - thought she'd capitulated, but maybe not ....

Lost 6-3 in the third. I mean at least she properly got stuck in during the middle of the third but it's pretty frustrating watching someone sabotage themselves week after week when they could be so, so good.

Should have won that in straight sets. Mladenovic was pretty poor for most of the match, and in the latter part of the match was mainly keeping the ball in play waiting for Jodie to miss.

Plenty of good positives for Jodie, but she really does need to improve her concentration and take it one point at a time.

I've always thought that Jodie was quite a good fighter. She doesn't lay down and die.

But it's one thing fighting in the third when you're a break down.

And it's another thing finding yourself in the third and a break down when you should have won it in two anyway.

She starts well. She fights at the end. But what she does in the second, when she's got the match in the palm of her hand, is just awful.

I would imagine that Katie B is giving the arm some rest time - she wouldn't want to play 2 or 3 matches at Eastbourne, aggravate the injury and then have to pull out of Wimbledon.

I didn't expect her to play here, given her injury and obvious discomfort last week.

BBC coverage at Queens has shown Katie watching Alex De Minaur's semi  final match.

How many times recently has Jodie lost in 3 sets having won the first comfortably?

If this is going to be the trend for Jodie, some easy money coming her way at Wimbledon along with Sam Murray.
Maybe better off in qualies but too late now. But do agree Jodie could be so much higher than she is. Just needs to work it out and win these matches.

I make it five this year, and four in straight sets.

The good news is that Jodie has the game to be competitive with top 100 players, the bad news is clearly she can't compete with them mentally for long enough to actually win.

Sam did well to get it back on serve, and then got broken at the last minute. 5-7

Fran is 2-2 in the second

Sam recovered really well in that first set and was playing a good level. She's just recovered a break at the start of the second too *1-2

Respectable effort from Sam, losing 7-5 6-3.

Fran had a set point at 5-4*, and has so far saved 3 break points *5-5. Gets her first game point and takes it. 6-5*
