Pironkova is a very good grass court player so it looks like Emma put up a good showing.

Surely Pironkova should be given a wild card now?

Pironkova retired a set down to Rodionova.

Two Aussie qualifiers in the finals here. Rodionova, who plays Van Uytvanck and Bolt who's up against Majchrzak.

Samsonova should really be at the top of the remaining WC pecking order given her outstanding week at Berlin W500. Qualified, and then beat Vondrousova, Kudermetova, Keys, and Azarenka on her way to the final tomorrow (vs Bencic).

I'm assuming that final MDWC is being reserved for Rodionova, should she beat AVU tomorrow, which is fair enough, but if she doesn't, I hope they give it to Samsonova instead, rather than just going next in again.
