Yay Anton again

Live rankings has him now as live 453, almost 100 places up on his current WR/CH 547

Exciting as to what he might achieve in the future if now much more fully focussed on his tennis.

As it is this week, there surely must be some stage when he becomes a contender for an upgrade to one of those "TBA" Wimbledon MD WC spots.

I'm sure i've read somewhere on these boards that he is studying for a degree but doing it remotely. So probably won't be fully focussed on tennis.

Anton comes across as very driven,  I think he is one of these people that thrives on having more than 1 focus. It's no different to the parents on the tour.

Harriet has been doing a degree remotely. Richard Gasquet did too. Andrea petrovic did one and a masters. And many more. And all were also very focussed on tennis. There's a lot of hours in a day......

Anton is also a very accomplished piano player and spends time on that too.

As you say, emmsie, he likes to have different interests.
To be honest, it's no different from another player spending hours on computer games.

One more win will put Anton inside the top 400, not sure he will get any further than that assuming Richard Gasquet is the SF opponent but still would be a super week and with a half decent qualifying draw he should make MD Wimbledon.

I think "should" is pushing it. But he's been doing great so "could".

Thanks for the info. I'm all for quality diversions as long as not detrimentral to his tennis focus going forward.

When he was a Junior he was very dismissive of Holger Rune for being completely focussed on Tennis, he likes and needs other interests. I've aways liked him,  Anton may not make it to the top but he will absolutely make it as far as his talent allows, just like Harriet.

Aidens serve was under constant pressure, whereas Alex didn't seem to have problems with his. Having said that, it was impressive from Aiden

v good last month for Aidan. given me much higher hopes for his career after he looked to be stagnating a little. Hope George L can do something similar
