Interesting the 400-600 lot have come here, rather than sneak into qualies in Notts (either with late withdrawals or wcs). But I guess they would still play a seed there with less prize money and 4 points if they sneak a win.

Any girls that are out of Birmingham before doubles sign in closes in Notts can go back there to play. So unless they get wildcards here, would anticipate Tara/Eden and SBG/EWS making a round-trip.

So presumably Jodie, Katie S, Sam and Matilda are the Notts MDWC? Going to be a jump in the deep end for any Brits that end up in qualies...

Not Emma?
I'd expect Matilda and Eva Shaw to be in qualies

The Nottingham ITF would look a good choice for Emma.

Actually, the qualifying sign-in deadline for Nottingham isn't until 6pm by phone, so there might even be the possibility of the early first-round losers playing both tournaments.

In Birmingham there are four matches scheduled on each court, so some might have the opportunity ! Or are they automatically withdrawn ?

True, but they could play doubles in Nottingham. I doubt it'll happen though.

It almost certainly will. They will all most likely be out of Birmingham by dinner time, and it's fairly common during this week in the grass for players to play the UK WTA qualies then the ITF doubles. With doubles being the priority for all 5 (Tara, Eden, EWS, SBG and Naomi) it would make no sense not to take the opportunity to play a 100k doubles especially when as it's an event with hospitality they'll get their accomodation for free for as long as they are competing.

Jo withdrew from Birmingham today.

So Im very confused ! Largely because Im not really focusing on tennis too much this week !

Is there a simple summary of which Brits are in Birmingham main draw and qualies and Nottingham itf main draw and qualies? It would be much appreciated !

Birmingham main draw is at lunchtime today. Nottingham qualifying draw will be this evening (sign-n closes at 6pm), and main draw may not be until Monday evening. So there won't be a clear picture until then, but should have a pretty good idea this afternoon, and of course wild card announcements have been partially made.

The itf site for Nottingham next week is showing no Brits in MD, Alison van U. Is top seed.  Fran 17th in qualifying and remaining Brits (usual suspects, Katie S and B., Emily WS, Jodie, Sarah Beth etc )as alts, highest being Sam as 3rd alt. Not much help perhaps, likely is that they will get the wild cards.  Personally  I can't cope with the lta site, to see if Nottingham WCs have been given. So maybe it will all depend on B'ham qualifying.

Fran replaced in the draw by Ingrid Neel. Huge opportunity for Naiktha. Question is whether Fran has been bumped to the main draw (taking Katie's wild card) or has just not recovered from last week.

The ITF acceptance lists aren't usually updated in the days immediately preceding the draw, so the Nottingham list is well out of date. When I checked yesterday there were at least 8 players on the list that are in Birmingham. For example Garcia Perez was Q17 in Nottingham, but is playing Birmingham quaies and seeded 10.

Streams available for all three courts on Unibet - I'll leave others to find more accessible sites !
