Interesting that Jasmine is there in the week of under 18 Nationals (and grass season starting). Without Matlida, and now Millie, she would have been #1 seed above Kylie and Eva on LTA ranking. Possibility of winning a Wimbledon ladies qwc. I wonder if incentive of winning a junior wc in nationals may be diluted for some if they have had one promised in the background by those with the power and influence to do so. If so it may affect the nationals entry from next year perhaps? Making it less strong.

I know very little about the opponent, but from the things we do know of, or can research into, doesn't seem the most encouraging of scores, but on to the next tournament I guess.

She could be one to miss out with that earlier WC playoff news. She's the type that would have likely got into that comp, but can't see her being one of the outright QWCs.

I'm afraid she's another one that has gone backwards recently, ever since her CH of 501 in October 2018. But she's still only 21 years old, so still time.

If there had been a QWC playoff this year, I wouldn't have expected her to come through, despite her success in the recent indoor tournaments.

I know the tennis landscape has changed a bit, and there will be some players having long COVID layoffs and coming back to W15s, and still fewer events, so these W15s will likely be stronger generally these days, but she used to have a fair bit of success in this level of event, pretty sure she was won a few titles (Dublin springs to mind), and a few other finals, but then massively struggled at the W25 level (like couldn't buy a win), but not ideal if she is losing early in the lowest level of event.

As has been mentioned a few times, getting to a final here (which seems a million miles away) is worth less than a solitary win at W25 level these days.

She's still young so there is hope for better times to come but the struggles she had at the next stage up, as you say, were not encouraging at all. I wonder if her success at the UK Pro league says more about the general state of GB women's tennis than it does about Emily.

Certainly I was still left wondering after the domestic series - well let's see her back in ITFs.

It was sure not part of the plan at this stage o be losing badly in foreign 15Ks rather than involved in the grass season. Well off plan.

Emily is indeed still relatively young (21) but things need tio start properly happening for her again fairly soon. There's probably more there but ir must be concenning whether she can find enough. Hope so.
