Sarah Beth & Eden are in as alts to face EWS and Sam respectively so two guaranteed British qualifiers already.

Great news. Both were facing high Q seeds so I wonder if they have been bumped into the main draw, or just withdrew, but to have at least 9 GB players in a WTA is some going (even if it is an extended field).

Very generous offer on the previous page btw wolf. Had I lived a bit closer (N'land), I may have been tempted to take you up on it.

I have a spare ticket for Sunday if anyone wants it free of charge, feel free to PM me..

I will be there all weekend if anyone wants to say hi...

Yes, really kind offer.

And really happy that you're going to have a great weekend of weather and tennis !

LIVE tennis - and sunshine - how good is that?????

(A GB win or two would help too but let's not be greedy)

So what are the odds on our three doubles teams all getting in now ? All six are on site and playing singles.

Also, if the Q2 and Q3 seeds have been bumped up, what about the Q1, Koslova. Is there an alt in her place as well ?

Edit: - Tennisontelly reports that the Q2 and Q3 seeds withdrew. Also Venus Williams has withdrawn

Tara should win, and I'd back Sam heavily on this surface if she had more tennis in her legs. Gasanova has no grass experience but is talented enough and hits a big enough ball I think she'll have too much unless Em can serve well and carve her up with the slices.

I'd be surprised if the doubles wildcard went to anyone other than a Heather/Harriet pairing to be honest. I think the others will struggle to be in the 3 highest ranked pairs entering on site (where you can use best of singles and doubles), none made it into the advance automatic entries list and would need a few more withdrawals before noon Sunday to get in as alternates. I think they will all feature in the 100k next week as the higher ranked players move on to Birmingham.

Delighted to see Emma back. In at the deep end for her first match back but good to see where her level is at.

Me too. She wasn't on my Nottm WC radar at all for some strange reason (even though I know she has at least got a few matches under her belt). I'll definitely try and make it a priority to catch her R1 match, and a chance for her to stake her claim for a Wimbledon MDWC

Not sure what Katie S is up to, no clues on Instgram. Not seen since that Bjorklund match in early-mid May. Presumably not fit enough yet, but hopefully she will at least be on the scene nearer Wimbledon time.

I'm pretty sure Katie S would have got a WC ahead of Emma if fit.

Courts look nice, and a few people in the stands watching the Naiktha match. She's down an early break.

Naiktha just looks so powder puff at this level. She works hard but it's not clear where the weapons are.

There must have been a couple of late withdrawals, Venus being one moved up Gatto-Monticone, not sure who the other was yet. Good opportunity for both Eden and Beth (the latter has a nice game for grass and has pushed some very good players in 18/19)

A couple of changes in Nottingham qualifying setting up two all-Brit encounters: Samantha Murray Sharan now plays Eden Silva as Giuliana Gatto-Monticone is out. Emily Webley-Smith faces Sarah Beth Grey following withdrawal of Anastasia Gasanova.

Naiktha on her way out. Usually someone 275/300 would get a wildcard into qualies for Wimbledon but I can see them making her go into pre-qualies to be honest.

Although she has just played a nice game to break and keep her out there a bit longer 2-6 *3-5

Qiang Wang was another withdrawal. She's withdrawn from all grass events to concentrate on the Olympics. I guess she'll know what she's doing (or perhaps didn't have a choice...).

I'm so cynical now with drug taking that my 1st thought was 'that'll mean no drug testing pre Olympics'

Thanks Ace. Despite the withdrawals I think it's an interesting draw. Jo surely has to get through that section. I rather fear for Heather though, I can see her losing to McHale.

Good opportunity for Harriet too, and Fran is in with a shout. Some good potential qualifier placements too for those that make it.
