Is Ali Gray still at college? He hasn't played a tour match all year, to get a WC ahead of Stuart seems debatable.

Maybe he couldn't get back to sign in for the Singles.

QR1:  (q2) Marius Copil (ROU) WR 228 defeated James Ward WR 329 by 6-3 7-6(9)  hmm

Dino came from a break down to take the second set into a tie-break.

Copil is an accomplished player on grass, does very little in singles off it from memory but seems to do well on it. Not a real shock I guess.

Arthur has a tough match v Ebden as well.

Good effort by Arthur, especially in that second set. Lots of break points. Matt got a warning. Very close in the second....

Final set TB for Anton, and he won't have faced a BP in the match.

I did wonder if Stuart Parker might have had a sniff of a qwc, being in the doubles draw. Might be alts yet.

My boy Stuart has a dubs wc?

But he's useless at doubles, bless him smile

Oh well, whatever, pleased for him!

And Ali Gray too - elegant game of tennis

Whereas I know Luke Johnson - who can play doubles- asked for a WC but was refused.  Just doesn't make sense .
