Well, early days but tuned into see junior's invincible Serena - and Rybakina is killing her.

However, it IS early days

The girl doesn't look mentally strong enough for when Serena starts shrieking and cheating sorry coup

Danielle Collins certainly didn't play her normal game against Serena the other day. She's normally roaring, in your face, constant 'come on's', but there was none of that on Friday (or in their earlier meeting this year), plenty from Serena though.

Got away with that last point, but first set in the bag for Rybakina. 6-3.

Get in Rybakina. 6-3 7-5.

Going to be two brand new slam semi finalists in that bottom half now, and then a new finalist.

 No need to apologise smile

Rybakina played extremely well.

Enjoyed that match

Reverse psychology from the start, which coincidentally Serena has just called me demanding an apology for. Serena took the L better than I thought she would. Let's go Badosa

What an incredible win by Rybakina. It is sad to see Serena Williams declining as a force so much. I don't know how long she will want to keep going, and although some will say, if she is enjoying playing, then she should continue, I feel it is a bit sad to see her playing so much below her best.

For me, I think Serena is only keeping going to try and equal Margaret Court's record, but assuming she hasn't managed that by the end of the US Open this year, then I hope she retires as one of the all time greats of tennis.

Had only there been some grapefruits to make the bet, now I'll be here correcting you and Coups inacuracies forever more Indy. Honestly do hope Badosa wins, she is playing well and is on a good streak besides being a lovely lovely girl in person

Matilda is entered in the girl's singles and is first on Court 8 tomorrow.

I also can't wait for Gauff v Jabeur, first up on Chatrier.

I'd say the bigger factor is the other players mentality, more than what Serena can or can't do right now (physically), you're right that Azarenka is the only one mentality tough enough to take her on, the rest are push overs and roll over. My money's on Serena

Now that Serena's gone, as well as Azarenka, showing the wonderfully unpredictable nature of tennis smile, the odds have obviously all done an about turn, with Iga S now the overwhelming favourite.

Iga Swiatek
Paula Badosa
Cori Gauff
Elena Rybakina
Sloane Stephens
