Greek Jesus and Zverev both through in straight sets. Praying the Greek knocks Zverev out as I cant deal with how on the nose Zverev wearing a wife beater top all tournament is. Not a good guy.

Sad Medvedev lost but he had a decent run all things consideredhis commitment to sh*thousery is genuinely amazing though and he always comes across as a smart and funny guy off court. Im a fan.

Good point, with the wife beater outfit, if Queens was still named the Stella Artois Open, he'd be there.

His chains he wears whilst playing also are terrible.

I think you are, wrong, everyone seems to be think Medvedev is some genius, just cos he plays chess and speaks a few languages. He is not. Did you see that underarm serve at match point?

Good to see how both Tsitsipas and Zverev have come through the draw.

There would have been plenty waiting for them to fail when presented with a half without Nadal and Djokovic. But they have done all that they can so far.

Of course the biggest test is still to come for the SF winner - the final.

Guys have one set one chance against Rafa, (gasquet and norrie second set) (sinner and diego first set) if they don't grab it then and there its game over

There is a difference to having chances, and to being able to actually win against RAFA at RG. At best Gasquet and CAMNO would have won a set. Only player to have beaten peak Nadal at RG was Soderling, who probably played the match of the decade.

Been doing this for my whole life Vandeburg, I fully understand how a match works, however, gotta start somewhere and I'd imagine winning the first set against him might help much more than not, Rafa has played a few shakey sets on serve I've seen, were he to play a set or two like that against somebody a bit more competent who might take advantage of the 2/3 breaks of serve they get in these sets, Novak for example......

As you say, there is only maybe 1 player that could take advantage, and that is Novak, and maybe Federer.

The young players, Zverev, Med and the Greek, would panic that they had won a set and it would destroy their minds.

Yes and no, they have all had their moments, and the matches Nadal has been beaten this year were by younger guys who won easier than you'd expect (Rublev, Zverev, nearly Stefanos) and Daniil in ATP finals.

And he broke twice in first set too, to lose it 6-4, Norrie broke twice second set (2-1,3-2) and still lost the set 6-3, Gasquet came back from 5-2 to 5-5 and lost the set 7-5. Sinner broke twice and served for it at 5-4 first set (hit 4 balls out and lost set 7-5). Talking about female players consistency.....

i remember sampras towards the end of his career would win lots of matches 7-6 6-4 or 6-4 7-5 or maybe lose an easy second set before winning...in essence he did just enough and avoided expanding too much energy. not saying rafa is doing that but is he letting sets go to recoup energy in effect and then take it out from there

crazy posts, Nadal has been in 2nd gear since round one, he did not break a sweat with Gasquet and Norrie, and wanted court time. Today against Diego, he was challenged for the first time proper, so went up to 4th gear, for the final 2 sets and demolished him. It was not as if Diego level went down, Nadal was just on fire.

Spoken as if Diego was an actual top10/top20 player, I think he won a few decent matches, got a bit lucky on a particularly slow restart last year, with no real points to defend and some favourable draws. (Hope the same doesn't happen to Aslan but think it will). Outside that I'd struggle to see him top 20, and he hands out the top 10 victories to others like sweeties. Much like Nadal's draw last year when he got to semi's without playing a top 70 player, Zverev this year has reached the semi's without playing a top 40 player
